August 21st, 2010, we joined up with Knox County Sheriff's Department, courtesy of Captain Stannard and held a 6 hour free, women's workshop.
Women were encouraged to come, bring any and all concerns, male friends volunteer were used as the girls training dummy.
Topics included awareness, home safety, weapons carrying, domestic abuse, rape, car jacking, and simple self defense tactics against a more powerful attacker.
Due to the impressive response from the community and requests, this will more than likely be a yearly series we do with the Sheriff's Department.
