As members of the Bujinkan, we feel it is our passion to share our hearts and our skills to those in need. It is a sincere goal to strive to instill something positive, warm, and essentially deeper than one may experience from a typical sport or competition martial art. We hope to make a deep impact and change in one's life where they need it, and in turn, hope that by strengthening them, they may also branch out and support others around them. Essentially, reaching out and connecting with one another and becoming a stronger, closer community.
Kyle F. (May 27th, 2010)
Kyle, one of our own, had been training with us for only a few months when he had to take time off from being fired from his job. His daughter at the time was needing new hearing aids which insurance neglected to assist with which knocked $8,000 out of Kyle's savings. Kyle almost sold his home and prepared to move into an apartment in order to support and protect his family. Although it wasn't much, we donated a month of our tuition in aid. Kyle now has a solid job and they are doing much better.
Knoxville Women (August 21st, 2010)
Teaming together with Captain Brian Stannard of Knox County Sheriff's Department, we donated an 8 hour workshop discussing in detail, current worries and concerns for the women residents which were present. We then continued with basic self defense applications any woman could use without resorting to power in order to win.
Restoration House (October 9th, 2010)
A housing for previously abused mothers invited us to give a seminar/lecture during a Family Night event. We asked each mother what their physical confrontational fear(s) were and we took time focusing on each situation. Two days later, after the positive response, we have offered any mother at the Restoration House regular training with our group without any tuition fee.
Help Heal Japan (April 23, 2011)
After the devistating tsunami and earthquake combination which struck Japan, our training group decided to come up with a benefit to aid the people of that broken but not destroyed country.
Bringing in 6 different instructors of different arts, we held a 6 hour workshop where all proceeds went directly to the Japanese Red Cross Society. While there was no set financial goal, $200 was a hopeful expectation. At the end of training, our total donation came to $1,300.
